Have just taken on a commercial premises-flat above it badly leaked last week all over my kitchen and bathroom.
Whole place needs dehumidifying-landlords insurer is paying for the repair.
As the dehumidifier will be running on my electricity, can I claim for this?
And how-via the landlord or the insurer?
Thanks

Yes, you can. Best to pass the request onto the insurers directly.0

It might be beneficial to take a reading of your meter from the date they were installed, this also helps to justify the increased costs of your electricity.0

I seem to recall that at least one of the firms in flood restoration (the firm with the lovely name - Munters) would reimburse you for the cost of running the machines and then claim this back from their client, the insurance company. The machines have an "hours run" meter so they can work this out.0
