We booked a five day break in Great Yarmouth at the end of august and bearing in mind it's kids holidays I'm wondering if somebody can advise/recommend any nice places to go where it wouldn't be too busy?Particularly interested in nature reserves/wildlife(esp birding)/simply beautiful areas to see, but generally all suggestions about places not too oriented for kids welcome? Thank you

There is redwings horse rescue centre, thats not too busy normally.
There is a lovely nature reserve at Carlton marshes near Lowesoft, good parking toilets etc, but also very peaceful with lovely walks, we saw an owl in and out of an owl box when we where there.Always on the hunt for a bargain0 -
There might be something of interest here http://www.broads-authority.gov.uk/visiting/places-to-visit/nature-reserves.html
This might be a bit too far for you and there will be children there but it's a big place - plenty of space and fantastic tea room/restaurant http://www.pensthorpe.com/ BBC Springwatch was broadcast from there this year
Just down the coast a bit there's the RSPB sanctuary at Minsmere and nearby Dunwich Heath for walking http://www.ukattraction.com/east-of-england/minsmere-nature-reserve.htm
this looks like it's the local newspaper and it has a what's on guide so it might be useful to look at just before you go http://www.greatyarmouthmercury.co.uk/content/yarmouthmercury/0 -
