Can any of you recommend a good sat nav system that has the speed camera warning for the best price?
I recently used a Garmin satnav with this but it costs £240!!!!
I know I can do better but am afraid to buy without recommendations.
ANyhelp gratefully received. Thanks!

Garmin do a range of units at various price points, however each should have saftey camera feature built in as standard. You then provide the weekly updates to the unit.0

Tom tom, buy the safety cameras as an extra0

Don't purchase any safety camera features as an extra, you can have them free from the net, (might be a month out of date) or free from pocketgpsworld if you are a subscriber to the forum.0

Check out the deals available at Halfords - both online and in its shops.
They're big on Sat Nav, their prices are keen and their advice is good.
They frequently have excellent special offers; we got a very highly specced £300 Garmin from them a couple of months ago for half price. It's brilliant: found speed cameras all over Europe when we went on holiday.
Always remember that the price of a traffic camera alerting device is greatly less than the cost of setting off three in a day on one long journey.
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

The SatNavs you're talking about don't detect speed cameras.
They tell you when you are near the reported position of "safety" cameras.
So when you're driving up the M5 the damn thing beeps letting you know there's another bridge up ahead.0 -
Buy any Garmin o rTom Tom and then subscribe to https://www.pcoketgpsworld.co.uk and download their database.
However it can get very annoying on motorways, as unrich says they tend to beep at every bridge. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
