Wooden wine boxes - what to do with them?

  • I'll have them.....or you can use them as great 7" record storage.

I also screwed some to the wall in a random effect, this makes great shelves, as you can use the inside and top of them.

use them as planters in the garden
  • Hi,

I work for a charity teaching youngsters from 4 upto older people upto 80, how to grow and prepare their own fruit, vegetables and herbs.

Nothing technical, just the basics. You would be suprised how many kids and young adults don't know where the peas etc grow from.

When the course finishes (FOC), they go home with home made, recycled pots with bits and bobs in. What I would like to start doing is giving each person a wine box and some seeds to take home. They can buy the growing medium and plant them up. I think it will make them feel great to follow the process from start to finish, but don't know how to get hold of free wine boxes. Can anyone help (Lancashire)?

Sounds like a good idea. Have you tried Freecycle? Another avenue to try is a proper wine merchants if you have any nearby, or restaurants.

    Good luck!
