Wooden wine boxes - what to do with them?

Hi,
My hubby has come home from work with lots of wooden wine boxes (empty ! ) Any ideas of what we can do with them? Perhaps something useful that we could make....maybe even as Christmas gifts? Seems too wasteful to throw them out or burn them on the fire. Thanks

Oh I love these wooden wine boxes. You don't see them much nowdays. I have two I use for storage and the other two I woodwashed and turned on their side and they are used as storage in my workshop. They look very rustic. Don't burn them - if you cant use them offer them on freecycle. Bet someone would love to have them.
Turned on their side long ways up, they look really nice with a vase or some attractive ornament, well that's my view anyways!:)Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I would suggest useing them as themed hampers for Christmas, with a corkscrew, couple of nice glasses (IKEA) & a bottle each of red & white wine. Or bung them on Ebay & see if anyone is willing to pay you for them.....0

like above they would be a great box for xmas hamper, wine, glases, corkscrew, wine charms, nuts, coasters
if you go anywhere to stay you could put in above and extra for the stay
if for parents or in- laws as above but add tins, chocs and their fav stuff -include books, photo frames/albums with special photos in9nearer the time get) fresh fruit and veg0 -
this is a while ago but in my local debenhams(leics) they had 50-75% glasses(really nice in cut crystal and modern glass)(home bargains do a set if not) if you knew someone who was getting married -or anniversary you could get them and put in extras eg chocs wine champagne, there is another link on this site about valentine champagne and chocs for £2.50 at tesco reduced put this together with some petals or sparkling confetti that would be brill, add do not disturb sign and headache tablets, romantic cd,body paint,choc0

I have one in the kitchen on it's side. I keep my vinegars and oil bottles in it, and pasta jars on the top.
The small boxes (two bottle ones) I use as moulds for making soap.0 -

Gettingpersonal sell painted apple crates to be used as planters - the blue wash painted ones look lovely! Maybe the same idea could be applied to wine boxes?

Wow! Thanks for the ideas, I think I will use a few for hamper gifts at Christmas (I didn't realise there was a hamper link on this site so I will start with that) The painted ones look great, especially the blue. Think I will also do some for the garden, maybe with some cheap halloween decs in to have near the front door. Thanks to everyone for the brill ideas.0

The hamper ideas sound great and each one can be personalized to each recipient.
