I've just ordered quite a lot of wine online from Tesco. I tend to get the ones I know first and then try others afterwards. I always search the 50% off ones first and get a few crates of anything I like. I have been saving my club card points and sent off earlier in the week to double them up for wine. (I know you can get 4 times the value on other things but I've never seen anything relevant). So I got £110 in vouchers for nothing, £10 off voucher that came in with my last club card vouchers and free delivery. They had a six bottle Christmas mixed case including a bottle of port, bottle of sparkly and red and white wines for £27 that I have bought for friends for Christmas.

Last week I ordered from Sainsburys as they had a great offer of 25% off any wine when you ordered over 6 bottles even if they were already on offer. Ordered the wines at 50% off and then with the additional 25% this made them really cheap i.e. £10 bottle for £3.75 but when my order was delivered they had run out of most of them.

Find the 3 for £10 ones at ASDA are generally not much good although occasionally they have something worth buying.

  • Its generally said that supermarket offers, particularly the half price ones arent such good offers as they seem.
Its been said that the prices are quite inflated before the 50% is taken off and the wine is probably worth no more than the reduced price at best(normally £3.99) anyway.
I guess really its all down to personal preference.
I am off to France and intend shopping around. No guarantee of getting the best wine at low prices but its fun and certainly cheaper.
