Hi all,
I have recently opened a Halifax easycash account with a Visa electron card, everytime i register my card with a website for shopping, i get an amount deducted from my card ( 50p- £2.50) when i phoned up to enquire i couldn't hear the lady properly, all i caught was that all the payments would go back into my account in a few days??
Can anyone enlighten me any further please ??
many thanks

thats what certain websites do when you sign up.
Eg. T-mobile debit your card for £2 to verify the card/your identity and immediately refund you the money. So it could take a couple of days for the money to reappear on your card/account.
It isnt the card at fault, but rather the websites that you're using.
Auction sites, ticket agents, epayment sites (paypal etc), mobile phones, utilities, legal mp3 sites etc. are likely to use this method.
I've noticed that debits vary from about £0.50 -> £6.
They're usually refunded straight away, although i've had to wait up to 10 days for a payment to reappear on my account/card.
It'll usually say what method they use when youre about to enter card details.

sorry, that wasnt meant to sound patronising.
anyways, it'd usually say something like this (as taken from the T-mobile site):

it's OK , i didn't think it was patronising ,
Thats the trouble with typing you can't get no expression in what your saying, alot of people can take things the wrong way, me, i just take it with a pinch of salt;)
thanks again
