Hiya all :hello:
My DH wants to buy a new hammer drill and a few other thingies (mixing paddle, chisel heads etc).
Just wondering where do other DIYers shop? We have B&Q & homebase local, have been looking on screwfix.
Also any reccomendations on what brand for hammer drill (hubby will also be using it for minor hacking off & stuff - he rents a breaker from TP for the bigger jobs, like hacking off ALL of the downstairs right hand side wall of our new house, but that's another story  )
Sorry for rambling!
Thanks all
Lou

Most power tool manufacturers produce 'home user' and 'professional user' lines and the latter are obviously better quality but more expensive. If you look at what local tradesmen use it tends to be the likes of Makita, DeWalt and Bosch brands. For the 'active homeuser' I'd say Bosch was probably the most economic choice as the others are far pricier. After that, it's a case of looking for the spec on the particular item you want to buy - power, size, cordless or whatever, and then doing a Google to find the cheapest source. B&Q do have occasional offers on good bits of kit, but you still need to compare on-line prices.0

I would recommend Lidl's for drill bits. They're top notch drill bits which you would easily pay £4 each for in any hareware store. They bore through metal like it's cheese. Lidl's Parkside power tools are good value for the money, they're not the same quality as Dewalt or Bosch, but they're well made for the money.0
