claims on c/cards

hi everyone,
i hope somebody can help??
i have bought a laptop off ebay and paid via my capital one c/card through paypal £160. when it arrived today the screen was broken, i dont think it was done in transit, i have put in a dipute with ebay and a claim with paypal under their free ins. but you only get 80% of your money back if your lucky.
the question is can i claim off my credit card for this ?? as i think it is a kind of fraud
thanks in advance

It's a goods issue really so the liability is with the merchant. It might be worth contacting the card company though in case resolutions with Ebay and Paypal stalemate as you only get a limited time to dispute a transaction.

For what it's worth, I claimed a refund off Amex when £40 quid of concert tickets brought through Paypal didn't arrive - and they refunded no problem, which was nice as they didn't have to. I had to ask very nicely and they made clear they were only doing this as I am apparently a "valued customer"....sweet :rotfl:

Paypal, on the other hand, got very upset and froze my account because the"cash-back could be an indicator of possible fraud". I got it unfrozen in the end, but it took a few weeks - you have to go through their automated system, which has four-odd steps, each of which takes an _age_. So take any money out *before* raising the cashback.
