not sure if this falls into stoozing catagory

I have approx 8k that I have that I did a sbt from mbna, I will need to use it next feb to pay off my halifax cc when it comes to the end of its 0% so where is best to put it for now and to make the most of it interest wise?

    also I am paying back 3k slowly to a family member, they are not in a hurry for it so would it be better holding onto the money I have got and letting it get some interest and then paying them back earl next year 1k and so fourth?

    Depends really on how much risk you want to take with it.
    Zero Risk, would be to put it in a savings account, e.g. Kaupthing edge, which will get about £205 in interest (you'd need to offset this against the fee you paid for the transfer).
    Low Risk, would be to use it for Matched Betting, depending on how much time and effort you put into it (and what offers you take up), could get you somewhere in the region of £600-£3000. (note: you need to do A LOT of reading to understand the concept before starting out)
