Entertainment would be disallowed. Up your clothing to £50
  • with regards to my car, will they take it? its worth about £200, there is a bus that runs every 2 hours, unfortunately the bus stop is nearly a mile away ( on the main road) so if i were to get the bus it would mean having to walk a mile(from the village) , then an 1 hour bus ride . twice a day! Im not being lazy but if i was a few mins late id have to wait 2 hours for another bus!also in the village where i live theres no post office or shop! there is a rather nice pub tho ;)

You need to explain this to the OR if he asks you but sounds like you have a good case.

    Put down £20 holiday fund.

You may get an IPA with the surplus you have.

  • I am in a similar situation to you and went BR 4 months ago. My income is about £40 less than yours and so far I've avoided an IPA
I pay my parents £311 a month (£200 rent and £111 made up of council tax and third of all bills - look at the bills your mum gets and split them fairly). On top of that I have £200 for food and housekeeping, some of it goes towards the weekly shop and some I keep for myself, for work etc.
Otherwise your figures are similar to mine - yours is slightly higher petrol (but there were no quibbles on that) and I had £10 for holiday, £50 for maintenance and MOT, £5 for AA and £50 for clothing. Basically the OR said it was unlikely my figures would be questioned as the surplus was £12.
If you can tweak things try and get as close to your salary as possible - check your mum's bills as it is only fair you are paying her acurately and move food out of it for this purpose.
If you get an IPA it will last for 3 years.

  • Also it doesn't sound like they will take your car - as long as you can say you need it for work and it sounds like you have a good case. Put a copy of the bus time table in your paperwork if it makes you feel better ;)

    Morning

If it was me i would break down the keep to your mum as in this way you may be able to up the figures slightly.

You dont have anything for perscriptions £10 is usually allowed Do you have any pets as that is another £20 for insurance that the OR sometimes allows.D
