Did this just suddenly start happening, is this a new router, or has this been happening for a while?0

Are you sure there aren't multiple programs trying to access the network? When I installed our network, I had numerous problems with my PC and connecting. It turned out that the windows network manager was trying to connect at the same time as Virgin Media's program. I went into the control panel, into administrative options and services, and stopped VM's program from starting when Windows starts. With just the one program running it now works fine.0
