Consumer Question re Barratts

I ordered two items on line. Delivery should have been within 7 working days. It went over this by a couple of days, so I emailed the company (Would not answer the 'phone). Despite already taking the money out of my account, company (Barratts) emailed back saying my order was lost in transit, so therefore they will refund me. Others on the Grabbit board were told this too.

Can they cancel my order once money has been taken??

Thanks in advance, Westy

If the goods were lost in transit and I assume they can't send you out the order again what other option do they have?

if they dont have it then a refund is the only thing they can offer u.

happened to me with aldo... only it took them over 2 months to refund me.
  • Sorry, I should have added at the time of cancellation the items were still on their website to order  The other people were also given the same excuse

I thought I may have had more of a case seeing as they had actually taken money from my account .

They would have taken your money because they sent the items out. I don't know of any company who send goods out without charging for them! Unfortunately, if the goods have been lost in transit and they are not able to send you a replacement, then the only option is to refund you. At least they haven't taken too long to offer this to you.

It does sound a bit "iffy" they have lost so many customers items "in transit" in such a small spell of time. Maybe the delivery depot, got raided overnight or they simply didnt have the stock in the first place, and are now spending the time excusing themselves for not having them in stock as advertised.
