live in partner leaving - can she take half?

It's Britain. She is obviously, stating the obvious, female.
Therefore she will get half one way or another.
Had it been the other way round, the man, would end up with nothing.
What a load of rubbish. Try knowing what you are talking about before you add anything.
Men can get a lot too especially if the judge is on their side.
I left my partner after 6 years together. I left as he had developed a drink problem and had become abusive. When I left, after one particularly vicious arguement, I just picked up my son and walked out.
He then proceded to change all the locks the next day which prevented me getting access at time I knew he was out of the house.
I had to go to court in order to get my house back, which just for information I had brought in my name only and i had paid all the bills (he had made no financial contribution into the family since he was made redundent 4 years earlier and no help with childcare as he was always down the pub.
At the court hearing (8 weeks after I left the house) he turned up with no barrister and the judge actually asked him if he wanted more time to get a solicitor and barrister arranged. Luckily he declined but then the judge gave him another month to get out of the house.
During all that time, I was the one paying the household bills, mortgage and I also ended up with a hefty solicitor's bill. I also had to buy new clothes and toys for myself and my son. Me and my son had to sleep on friend's floors whilst he had a 3 bedroom house to lounge around in.
He then began proceedings to claim half the house and my solicitor advised me to settle with him out of court to cut my losses.
Now tell me that men don't get anything.0
