Direct debit from savings account

Hello,

Is it possible to use a savings account directly for paying a direct debit?

It is for monthly golf fees and the savings cover the amounts required.

Is this the best way? We need to keep it completely separate from other finances.

No it is not possible to do a Direct Debit from a savings account.
On the other hand it is easy to do it from a current account.
You could have a separate current account used only for this DD.

I'd say no. Use Cahoot current account that pays 4% without any strings attached and comes with £100 (£50?) free overdraft ...
As Robert said above you can have several current accounts with different banks or even with one bank. I have two with Nationwide and several other accounts.
