Legally Delay Paying Car Tax/vehicle Excise Duty

Motorists with road tax discs due to expire at the end of August 2008 should only buy six months’ tax this time around. They can then re-tax their vehicle for 12 months prior to when the huge increases take place next April, giving them 12 months at the current road tax rate rather than immediately having to pay this tax hike

    Would that be the huge tax increases that aren't going to be happening?

    And there's nothing to stop you getting 12 months tax then re-taxing in March and sending off for a refund on the remainder of the old disc.
