I am after some help /guidance Please
I have created a basic webpage using MS Frontpage 2003. I have text down the middle which is centred. Halfway down the page i tried to add pictures on the left and right of the text which is meant to run down the middle.
However when i use screen resolution 1024*728 it displays correctly and on other resolutions its overlapped and jumbled up.
I want to fix those pictures in place, what am i doing wroung. I bet its simple to fix.
Sorry for the newbie web design question.

Can you upload the page?
I'd say we need to see the code and the output really.0 -
i no this sounds really cheap, but can you not put a box in with no borders so its invisible and in position then put the image in there?!0

I'd agree with that, use tables, much easier to get your formatting correct.
I would say, make sure that you specify the width of the table in pixels otherwise they can look a bit weird on a wide-screen displayIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0 -
Thanks for the tips so far, i will try and get the website uploaded this evening when i am home.
Tables
When you mention tables - can you paste pictures into each table!
Is there an easy way to set layouts in Frontpage? Ie set an area for text, another area for pictures, add colour to various areas in block?
I am getting to grips with frontpage but cant make them snazzy!0 -
im not much of an internet mystro myself i have online ever done web for college, and i only used dreamweaver...
but erm from what i know i think it cann all come down to just like free hand.....
im guessing you havent made a template?!?!?!
but you can just do everything free hand
from text boxes to positioning where righting goes,,,
i would suggest opening up to front pages at the same time, one to fiddle with on your page, and one which you will actually do for real,
because sometimes you can move things and never get it back to the way it used to be, but with two pages you can test it out beforehand,
when i get home ill have a little fiddle with frontpage and try and help you out as mush as possible, but for now ican only do so much
and yes you can insert a picture into the table, the re-size the image to fit the box size (if ti doesnt do this automatically)0
