Combination Boiler

I'm having my heating changed over to a combination boiler because I want to loose the tanks out of the loft to do a conversion. I was under the impression that you have to upgrade the rising main water to 22mm for a combi, but the plumber came to look and said no, you can just put it straight on the old 15mm main that's already in the airing cupboard. Is this going to work, or should I get a second opinion? (I'm getting a Worcester Bosch 37CDI boiler)

The heating engineer should have carefully measured your mains pressure and flow rates.
He did didn't he?0 -
Hi dursley.donkey, I've just gone through the process of getting quotes for a new boiler and every engineer that came said that we needed our pipework upgrading so if I were you I'd get a few quotes - we got 6 in the end - probably a bit excessive but it gave us lots of things to think about!
Like EliteHeat said - they should check your pressure and flow rate before they put a new boiler in. Also make sure they are Corgi registered!
Good luck
