0845 thru Just Dial???

I've just signed up to JustDialLite, - what is the best way to make 0845 calls? route back to BT? or just dial direct?
What are Just Dial charges for 0845 numbers?
I never call 0870 numbers, and only call 0845 if no alternative. Can't see any info on the Just Dial site...
Anyone tell me what's best please?

I always refer to THIS POST for guidance.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Just Dial charges the same as BT for both 0845 and 0870 calls......but only at w/ends for 0870 and for evenings and w/ends for 0845 according to this:
http://www.magsys.co.uk/telecom/tarifres2.htm
otherwise BT are cheaper. Sooooooo.....go for BT in preference to Just Dial and use 18185 for peak 0870 and dialaround for peak 0845.0 -

But BT only charge.
0845. P. 3p a minute.
OP. 1p a minute.
WE. Ip a minute.
0870. P. 7.51 a minute.
OP. 3.75 a minute.
WE. 1.49 a minute.
So BT are in fact cheaper them then at Peak Rate on 0845,as they charge 3.95p.
BT are also cheaper them then on Peak and Offpeak rate to 0870,as they charge P 7.91 OP.3.95.0 -

Have just gone onto Just Dial and found that calls to my Dial-up Internet Provider which are on 0844 are charged a bit higher than BT. But when programming the Orchid it does not offer a 1280#0844 or 0845 option only AS EXCEPTION which routes through the CPS provider JustDial.
Am I right or wrong? My head hurts with all the options!!!!
SteveIf you lend someone £20 and never see that person again.
It was probably worth it.

What I think you are looking for is this:SteveR wrote:Have just gone onto Just Dial and found that calls to my Dial-up Internet Provider which are on 0844 are charged a bit higher than BT. For routing through BT you need to set up an override on Cwclient - once you are in Routing...go to the "Carrier" box - then on a blank line (say No 5 for the purposes of this example) - get the drop down list and find "1280 - CPS Override". Then for 0845 calls repeat the exercise (say No 6 on the drop down list) and look for: "08444624848#### - DialAround" - this is for 2p/min 0845 calls. For 0870 calls you should use 18185 (4p/min). Set up line for 18185 as before (say No7 in your "Carrier" box - look for "18185 - 18185"....this assumes you have set up an account with 18185 in the same way as you did for 1899). You should have an account for 18185 in any event as their calls to mobiles are now the cheapest at 5p/min peak and evening and 2p/min for w/ends. So set all calls to mobiles to go through 18185.
Then go to the "Routing" box within Cwclient...(next to the Carrier box you have just been setting up). Next to the 0845 line you should set up as follows: 6, 5 and 5 (ie Dialaround, BT and BT) for peak, evening and w/end respectively. Next to the 0870 line set it to 7, 5 and 5 (ie 18185 and BT and BT) for peak, evening and w/end respectively. Both these should be Attribute "A". Set up calls to routing "07 - Mobile A" to 7, 7 and 7 for peak evening and w/end (ie ..in my example...all through 18185).....again with Attribute "A".
That should be it....:)
Good luck!0 -
You might want to amend that - 070 numbers aren't mobiles and can be vastly more expensive.fbrj wrote:Set up calls to 07 Nos (ie mobiles) to 7, 7 and 7 for peak evening and w/end (ie ..in my example...all through 18185).....again with Attribute "A".Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. I agree - but what I was saying was in the context of the "Routing" box within Cwclient, which shows:
"07 - Mobile "A" "
...just to avoid any confusion I've amended my post....:)0 -
Ok - thanks for that - so to re-route back to BT if i need to call 0845, I dial 1280 yeh??
I never call 0870's from home.Bless Martin's Little Cotton Socks. I thank him for giving us MSE. Look what its grown into!
