mature student funding - Scotland

My bf aged 55 may be about to get an early retirement package. He would like to do a degree. I have checked the relevant websites, but can find nothing about funding. I am really most interested in the fees, as he doesn't have a high pension he may not be able to afford the fees. I know fees are paid for Scottish students. Is there an age limit on this?

I don't know what website you've looked at but you'll find the information you need on www.student-support-saas.gov.uk

Scottish students, studying in Scotland, have their fees paid for them but your bf won't be eligible for a maintenance loan because of his age. Wish him luck from me.

Thanks :). I did look there, but I didn't find anything age related. It is just the fees he is worried about as he has a small pension that will cover other costs.

I couldn't see anything age related about fees either. However, as it's very clear about the age restictions on loans I'd assume that there are none. Best to give them a ring to be sure.
