BT phones Making Loud Noise

I have a cheapie cheap argos phone, which works great. I also have a BT Freestyle cordless, and a BT something or other corded. Both the BT phones make a loud 'shushing' noise, all the time, during calls, listening to the dial tone, hearing messages etc.

I've tried them in different sockets, and the noise is present, I've tested the other sockets with the cheap phone, and that is fine. I can't find anything about it in the trouble shoot in the manuals. Any suggestions folks?

I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

    it sounds like the cheap phone is one that can be used with 1 or more phones and the bt ones can only be used by themselves ...check on the bottom of the phones to see what REN they are...
    some phones can only be used on there own...
