Not too sure about the OPs question - I believe I have in the past purchased drinks on a CC without also buying food.
Anyway, just read your signature ShelfStacker - that's great news! I hope it all works out for you. Keep us posted on how it all goes (both the moving home and the new job).0 -
Yesterday I bought 5 drinks and no food in a tavern in Windsor using my Visa card. Not a problem. You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0

It all depends on the pub's policy.
Credit cards always charge a % of the amount (normally 2or 3%) which is an expense for the pub whilst debit cards are charged at a flat fee.0 -
No problem for me even do cashback. Generally run up a tab though and have to spend more than £10.
Mind you there are some pubs in which I would be very wary of sharing my CC info!!!0 -
Pubs seem to all have their own rules, but it's certainly not "illegal" to pay for just drinks on your cc.
Even the "minimum spend" rules are of questionable legality. I believe their agreement with Visa, Mastercard etc. says they should accept it as a form of payment as they would cash, with no limits on amount or what it's spent on. I think their position is that they have a right to refuse anyone for any reason they see fit. It's certainly a grey area though.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0
