Yeah, I figured that, but the bread from the Panasonic 253 my parents have is SOOOOOO much better!0

Please (pretty) please can you furnish me with your recipe details squiggles?0

I bought a BM from Asda, they dont have them in my local one, but i saw them in another branch. Its a Durabrand - but it looks the same design as the MR fast bake.
Tried it yesterday for first time, made basic white bread, came out fine for first attempt. I was very impressed that it actually rose!
DH wants to try the sandwich bread now thinking it might be a little lighter.
I dont know whether its gonna be cheaper though, it uses nearly half a bag of flour for one loaf - am gonna look at the breadmaking thread to see what others are doing.0 -
yes agree with you Tonyflow, mine came out slightly yellowy and more cake type. I'm just glad it came out edible for first go!!!!0

I use only bread flour from Lidl and it is great every time. And it is only about 50p.0

sorry for the delay
i only ever do the sandwich loaf as its the one i like the best as im trying to cut down on my salt.
I dont put the ingredients in the pan in any particular order anymore as i didnt find it made any difference but i do put the water in last only because everything else is dry ingredients and it would stick to my cup.
sandwich loaf 1.5lbs
3 cups of hovis strong white
blob of marg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon coffee mate as i dont buy skimmed milk powder
1 1/16 warm water= 1 full cup and about 15ml to make it easier to understand
then i bung in a whole sachet of the hovis yeast,my recipe says only 3/4 teaspoon but i found the bread didnt rise and was rock hard and heavy. My loafs come out well risen and fluffy and the marg adds a nice yellow colour.0 -
Lovely - cheers for that!0

I have found this in mine, the recipe book that came with the BM says hald teaspoon of yeast I always put one and a half in now and my bread comes out loverly and soft with a crusty crust which is really nice.
I also use sunflower spread now instead of butter as one day I didn't have any butter so thought I would give it a go and tthe bread is much lighter using this instead of butter.cc debt ( end dec 05) 6485
