Would a cap suit me? ;)
Hi,
I'm trying to figure out whether or not to switch my gas/elec. supplier and if so, who to. I have used energyhelpline.com to do a comparison, and it looks like I should change i.e. my current supplier (ScottishPower Manweb) isn't the cheapest. So I'm now looking at the alternatives.
My first question is should I go for a capped rate or not? I realise these are more expensive in the short term, just don't want any nasty surprises in the future. The caps currently offered are about 5% more than I'm currently paying, whereas the cheapest uncapped are 14% less then my existing tariff.
Secondly, if I do cap, should I look at capping both or treat them separately? And finally, how long would you cap for?
Thanks for any advice, I am totally confused by all this!
