Vanilla is it by any chance in Woking? This is where we took our cat when he was run over. I didn't have insurance at the time, and couldn't afford to have his leg pinned after the long journey there, and we had to bring him back to our vets and he now has 3 legs. It was such a hard decision to make, but he gets around really well now, and you wouldn't know he only has 3 legs unless you looked carefully.

I'm in Northern Ireland and there doesn't seem to be many vets that take on this much work this vet is from here but lived in England for years and done his training there, he's only home a few months and set up himself.

My pet insurance was to run out last month and i thought i didn't have any so yesterday when we got home i checked and by luck the insurance place had automatically renewed it so thank god i'm lazy.:rotfl:

The first vet hit me with a 556 pound bill before i left and thankfully i had the money (now broke until monday) i've never claimed before and didn't know how it worked so paid but then when i was up at the other vet he said i should have just paid the excess, but ah well live and learn. The vet said after the operations he's to go to the doggy pool so that he doesn't get stiff (didn't even know there was such a thing).

Dinner over, wm on and i'll start the kitchen once kids are in bed.

Hi Vanilla, glad to hear your news about Bo. Hope all goes well for his op. My dog had to have an op to remove a dummy teat from his tummy a couple of years ago, I had to pay up front - about £350 and then claim back from the insurance. Luckily I had a credit card I could use and the cheque came through quite quickly.

      1. What *was* that disgusting mess under the coffee machine when you moved it?

      2. On deciding to chuck the old chipped salt bowl that used to be kept by the hob, why did you wash it up first?!

      3. Did you have to look at the cloth after you wiped the power leads to the appliances down? Erk!

      4. In future, empty the toaster tray more often - you could have fed the local bird population for the next year on those crumbs!

Ok...I now have a shiny sink, a shiny hob, completely clear worktops and a pile of cleaning cloths that are *not* going to be washed at 30 degrees, the environment will just have to ache a tiny bit...
