                    Hi all,
I live in a house share with 3 other people and would like to insurance my belongings. Most insurance companies insurance complete houses, but I just want to do my stuff like you do as a student. (My housemates are happy to be uninsured so can't share a policy)
Any ideas??
Thanks muchly

I suggest you approach one of the student insurers, as they may be able to offer you something. In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0

yep would agree with that, cover4students and HSBC both offer this kind of insurance I think..
I'd avoid Endsleigh at the moment as they have semed to have lost the plot of late!0

 Hi
can I ask how you think endsleigh have lost the plot?
Endsleigh are better known I think for insurance for people who don't own houses and for students so it's difficult to choose when there's not that much choice.
I can't seem to find out how people have faired using these companies.
I'll be a mature student in sept and would like some kind of cover for my laptop and DSLR but I have no idea who to go for! (who has what loopholes etc)
I'm thinking of getting the student account with HSBC (I've not confirmed the student aspect as yet) and I know they mention something about their insurance for students starting at £25 per year.. I think they only pay out a maximum of £500 which wouldn't cover my computer... but is this usual for insurance policies (I've never had insurance so far.. did have on a mobile but it never actually covered anything!!!??!, lol)
have you used student insurance yourself? how did you find it?
have you ever heard of Karma insurance?Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later date now at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!0 now at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!0

            hi,
I've just had a look on Karma and in the exceptions it states in the laptop part that its only covered if less than two years old at the time of claiming! That excludes me.
