As I'm sure alot of people have noticed over the last week or so, this board has degenerated into petty squabbling- people employed by insurers on one side and independant assessors on one hand.
Let me start of by saying that at times I have been very guilty of this, and for that I apologise. I post on these boards to help people out who are having trouble with insurance claims and I think I do a pretty good job.
What is happening at the moment is that all our collective expertise I think is going to waste, which will ultimatly lead to either the board being closed or a lack of new posters- neither of which I would like to see.
Lets be honest. People on opposite sides will probably never change their opinion of the other side.
Can we all agree, for the good of insurance customers, coming here for advise to stop the oh so obvious arguements? I'm game if you all are! Yes, we will have differences of opinion- we wouldnt be human if we didnt, but at the end of the day if people go away with the correct advise I think it would make us all look a hell of a lot better!
(and as a matter of course, I have removed my sig. If it caused offence, I apologise but it wasnt meant as anything other than a joke. I know full well there are some bloody skillfull assessors, and likewise there are some good adjusters.)

Agreed here.In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0

I would also like to thank Flamecloud for the post above.
As a newbee, we may have got of on the wrong foot on some other threads, but I'm sure we can all agree that any helpful advice posted on this forum, is a good thing in general.
Thats what attracted me to the forum in the first place.
It just bugs me sometimes, in the way that Loss adjusting companies are seen as the solution, when in many cases they are very much the problem instigated by the major insurance companies who control them. I have been in this game over 20 years like yourself, and have seen many things change in that time.
It seems like the good Loss adjusters have gone, (mainly due to the control of the claims by the major insurers among other reasons)
for example, the loss adjusters have one hand tied behind their back when dealing with many claims, having companies such as Rainbow, Chemdry and ROK being used at the request of the insurers and not being able to use local companies.
I believe there are too many unqualified adjusters in the industry, and as stated in recent industry publications, there isn't enough new blood coming in.
These issues need to be resolved for the good of the industry, and while this situation continues, assessors will continue to thrive.
This isn't a personal dig at any poster on this forum, who I'm sure, all posts with good will, but there is fraud in this idustry and it has become too much of a closed shop.
Rather than hijacking another thread to discuss such issues, it would be nice to have a thread dedicated to it,
perhaps I'll post something more substantial tomorrow.0 -
I look forward to some good, technical discussions untainted by politics! I think I could learn something frromexperienced assessors such as Insco- hopefully for the benefit of customers!0
