They might then again they might not.
Are you in arrears or have had problems with the card in the past?
Is the card still in your possession and is usable?
If so I think you stand no chance.0 -
Why not just pay off the £1000, after all that is the amount you've accrued on the card. Why should you not pay off the full amount?0

If I owed you £1000 but offered you £700 as full and final payment, would you accept it?
Thought not.0 -

Well if I suspected that you were about to go bankrupt or enter into an IVA then I'd probably accept the £700 and write off the remaining £300.0 -
No, I would give the opportunity to pay it off without interest in manageable repayments till you got yourself sorted out.jamalfatty wrote: »If I owed you £1000 but offered you £700 as full and final payment, would you accept it?
Thought not.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
Is over £300 of the balance fees and interest?0

I had a balance of £1135 on my capital one cc and they accepted a payment of £910 as a partial settlement on the account but would only accept the full amount as F+F.
This means that nobody can chase me for the extra but the 'partially settled' will look worse that fully settled on my credit file, although it is better than nothing but a default.
i can pay the extra £225 off at anytime and they will change the marking but if this doesnt happen in the next 3 years it will fall off my credit file anyway.0
