What happens if you were doing something that you should not of really been doing.

ie...pushing something heavy (3 ton) with others people (a common practice) , that you should really use a truck to move, and you slipped on some oil..

    Hi Alias,

    Difficult one to call really.

It could be worth putting in a claim to see what they say. If you could prove that it was custom and practice to do what you were doing when you slipped it may strengthen your case. However if you knew it should not be done like that, it could cause difficulty. They say they look at all cases individually so put in a claim and see what they say.

    Regards

    Pete
  • Also worth checking your personal accident insurance - your broken ankle may be covered...

You don't actually give any details (that I seen anyway) about what happened. Circumstances must surely dictate responsibility and any possible claim?

What happens if you are injured while on leave?
My son has had a motorbike accident and broken bones in his hand. Should be going back on Monday to continue his trade training. He wants to go back asap, but he needs an operation on his hand first. Will he still be paid as normal?

He is worried because his hand may take 14 weeks to heal. Is there any chance of being chucked out of the army? He had just started Phase 2 training.

If you have the PAX insurance you can claim under that
  • I broke my arm playing in a unit hockey match and successfully claimed under the new AFCS.

Simple to do as long as you can give them an accurate and documented medical history of the injury, then the Veterans Agency does it all for you.
