wickes conservatory

i hope this is the right board to post on. please feel free to move it

two and a half years ago we purchased a conservatory from wickes and had it built using builders that wickes ahd given us details of, and even contacted for us.

ever since it was built we have had leaks from it. we have contacted wickes on many occasions and had a rep from the manufacturer who came out, broke some beading, told us that was our problem, and also that the leaks were caused by condensation???

we we're not given a second opinion even though it was asked for several times.

we got the builder back along with a rep from the store who admitted he knew nothing about building or fixing conservatories. it was agreed that if we siliconed all the joints on the roof this would stop the leaks. this worked and we were given around £500 for our troubles although i did insist that this was by no means a final payment and if the leak returned i would be back.

well you guessed it tthis week not only has one of the original leaks returned so has a new one. i contacted wickes last wednesday and my complaint was put through to there guarantees dept. i got no call so yesterday morning i called and spoke to them. they said that they would refer my complaint back to the manufacturer who would send a rep within 14 days. well last nights things got even worse and i ended up having to call hubby from work and get some tarpalin and tape and get up in the roof in the wind and rain (and boy was it raining). i now no longer feel it is acceptable to wait 14 days for someone to come and have a look to deciide what is going to be done, if anything.

where do i stand? we are unable to prove that it is a manufacturer fault as it could be anything from one peice being a mm too small, and at the same time the manufacturers, or wickes have never found a fault with the build of the conservatory.
please help, i'm at my wits end

    Hello moo842

I'll move this thread to the 'In my home (includes DIY) MoneySaving' board where it should get more views/responses.

    MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES

Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances:
I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see
this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.
