Hi folks i dont know if anyone has posted anything like this before , if so my appologies.
Martin has done so much for so many people , we could all write or e mail downing street. He fights for us all !

I think he's largely responsible for a lot of the troubles the country is having just now within the financial services industry.

Encouraging people to waste peoples time in getting good advice from experienced professional advisers only to encourage them then to go direct to lenders is unethical, even if it is money saving.

Martin Lewis can be credited with owning a good website consisting of posts from other users, not him.

Sorry, but some of the scaremongering and poor journalism than comes from Martin makes me cringe sometimes.

There are some fantastic contributions from people on here :j . But he started this web site to help people such as myself. And that cant be bad , can it ?:money:

I think you're confused. Martin set this site up to help him self by helping people such as you. That ISN'T a bad thing as I set my own business up nearly 19 years ago on the basis of helping people while making money my self.

It's the unethical, cavalier attitude he has, while not researching his work sufficiently to be accurate, but presenting it in an over-exited, animated, attention grabbing way while effecting peoples income and livelyhood that I have a big problem with.

To be fair, I doubt that IGF, a financial services professional, would need to take advice from a journalist.

Actually I have got some very good information from this site, but it comes from the users, not Martin. For example I had been under the impression for years that there was only a comeback on something not being picked up on a Full Structural Survey, that was until somebody posted and somebody else confirmed also, that they had had a Homebuyers Report which didn't pick up faults and successfully got compensation from the Surveyors.

My partner also got a good recipe for a tomato and basil soup. :rotfl:

The good thing about this site is we get advice from both sides


I have seen posts where i thought OP was right and was getting advice saying he/she was but then a post came up saying no and it made sense so if you are for post or against do keep posting as it all helps and thats what site is about


As for martin he does say he makes money from site but so do 1000's users with savings ect so we all win

Don't think this site has made anyone as many millions as Martin has made off it!

There's another thread sonewhere in the forum with a NO 10 petition to get him knighted.

You're about a year too late with this thread (although I doubt very much that the petition will achieve it's aim )
