Hi, not sure of my rights.
I bought a 42" samsung tv from currys on the 24th june, and on the 8th august the screen went blank just in time for the olympics. I called samsung who arranged for an engineer to call, but when I spoke with the engineer he said that the tv would need a new screen and they would take the tv away until such a time that the part is available (could be between 2-4 weeks).The engineer could give me a replacement 32" tv while I waited.
I am not impressed.:eek:
Can I demand a new tv? Currys said that an engineers report is required before they will do anything. Why should a 6 week old tv be repaired and not replaced?
Any one out there with some answers, I'm missing all the sport:rolleyes:

Yea you have teh right as a consumer to demand a replacement as your product has not lasted a reasonable time and could be classed as faulty
go back to where u got it from and demand 1, if they refuse contact your local trading standards and/or the office of fair trading
hope this helped:dance: I am great , yes I am :dance:
:rotfl:If you think I was useful , Thank you, for thanking me

Actually you have to offer the vendor the chance to repair after a certain period and that certain period is only a few weeks.0

Hi,
Having just been through this start your conversation like this;
I depend for my Consumer rights, upon the Sale of Goods Act 1979 as amended, I am guided and advised by Trading standards. The case reference is nnnnnn.
They are so pleasant and reasonable then.
