Kaupthing Edge savings account rate increase to 6.55% AER*
[/FONT]
Kaupthing Edge is committed to offering savers competitive returns on their deposits and we have therefore increased the rate on our instant access account to a market leading 6.55% AER* (6.36% gross**). This new rate took effect from 30 July and for balances over our minimum of £100 the increase is automatic with no tie-ins or fees.
This new savings account rate is in addition to our announcement on 9 July to increase the rate on our 12 month fixed term deposit account to 7.15% AER* (7.15% gross**) and our 36 month fixed term deposit account to 7.15% AER* (7.67% gross**).
Kaupthing Edge term deposit accounts can be opened with a minimum deposit of £1,000 by logging-in at the Kaupthing Edge website.

Ask your doctor to put you on the whisky diet. It's working for me ... I've lost four days already!

[read Daily mail bankrisks today Kaupthing have a rating of 856 this is close to the rating Bear Stearns had before it nearly went under. You have no safety of the £35000 that uk banks do. If they go so does all you havewith them . Very dangerous times to be chasing the 0.5% or whatever it is. Get out while you can.:eek:0

Rubbish! Either you or the Daily Mail (or both) don't know what you're talking about and are just spouting scare stories. So far this week, we have read that KE are Nigerian (they are Icelandic) and that they don't have the same safety as UK banks (they are fully registered in the UK and as such are no different to Halifax, Lloyds or Barclays) - what are we to be treated to next? That interest will be replaced by shares in the dried fish industry??You have no safety of the £35000 that uk banks do. If they go so does all you havewith them . Very dangerous times to be chasing the 0.5% or whatever it is. Get out while you can.
I wish people would post facts, or at least their opinions, rather than drivel they've read in tabloids and failed to understand. You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...:cool:0 -
