converting camcorder tapes to dvd

I have a recordable dvd player and would like to convert my camcorder tapes onto dvd, I have a cable with jacks at either end now the difficult part do I plug the jacks into dvd player and the other to the camcorder then will this transfer film onto dvd, I think I must of read this somewhere????? other than that I have been looking a usb video capturing gadget if all fails will this work.

Not sure what inputs are on the back of the RDVD but would think that it should be possible as you would normally record TV as an analogue input into the DVD, so i would just give it a try, other wise yes you can use a USB video capture device such as this, but would give the DVD a try first before spending any cash

I have just purchased an Easy cap usb gadget to convert my camcorder tapes on dvd through the pc. it all seemed quite straight forward in the advert but I am struggling cant get anything to work. I successfully installed the software but the usb has four plugs black, white, yellow and red and you are suppose to connect the plugs from camcorder to these however my camcorder only has two plugs at either end one red and one black so I have a problem?

any advice would be grateful.
