Help - damp floorbaords in the Bathroom!

 The toilet overflow has dispensed water straight onto the Bathroom floor. When I have lifted the flooring the floorbaords around the toilet are very damp and smelling. How do I replace the floorboards under and around the toilet?
I am no DIY expert and my husband has already fallen out of the loft (looking for spare floorboards!) and broken his big toe resulting in his foot now being in a pot!

  • Turn the water off at the mains (stop !!!!), this is usually in the kitchen, down stairs toilet or attic.

Unplumb the toilet, i.e. take it out completely, then fit the floorboards. It sounds like a big job but its not. If you try and fit the floorboards with the toilet still plumbed in you could cause yourself some more headaches!
  • the (!!!!) is stopcock, but the word filter deleted it and replaced it with the exclamation marks.
