Big problems with Lcd Tv - Picture flashing and flickering!!!

Hi all, I am hoping someone may be able to help me on this one ?

We bought an Evesham Lcd 32 TV a year past in Feb, after getting good reviews from bith their site and this one. The picture quality until now has been fab , and when I compare to others always more than happy with it.

That was until yesterday. When DS put on the tv the picture was almost like a scroll like, flickering on the screen. It is more noticible when their is text on the screen as you will maybe see that flashing in a couple of places on the screen. I thought the problem was unique to Sky +, so restarted the box, but no it happens on that - digital tv ( via arieal socket ) and also on the analogue tv.

It does tend to settle down a bit after a while - maybe half an hour or so I telephoned Evesham yesterday as we got either a 3 or 5 year warranty with the tv when we bought it ( swap in warranty), but the telephone line says basically as they went bust last year our warranty in void. We paid by credit card so not sure if anyone can offer advise on that also or if I should post that query seperate on another part.

Many Thanks all for reading.

Their website is still up and running so I'm surprised they say they've gone bust.

Thanks for that - Does any one know what the problem may be with the TV ( may try and pursue warranty under Section 75 of CCA).

  • Sounds like the cold cathode or the LED/driver circuits are failing. Normal type of problem, get a competent service guy to take a look.

Thanks for that totalsolutions - what kind of price should I expect to pay for this kind of repair? We would rather have it fixed than replaced after the time and effort to get it put on the wall etc.
