Q: I have a room in a basement that has been converted to an office. The room goes under the lounge and hallway, the problem i have is that when the front door is closed i can hear it being shut and also the footsteps above my head. I have laid accoustilay 15 in these areas as a shock absorber but i can still hear the thuds... any ideas of a better way to soundproof ? i cant have a suspended ceiling built as i dont have the headroom.
Any help would be grt

Hi, the ceiling height is around 6 foot 5 inches0

You could fit 1" kingspan to the joists and then over board with plasterboard if you want a finished ceiling0
