    So when lenders offer to keep your deeds safe for a fee, they know they're worthless. The theiving shower of b@stards, are obtaining money by deception then!!
  • I was directed here from another forum, so hello!

    Some very interesting and useful info on here...I've added it to favourites...!

    Our mortgage with Halifax is ending and they want £50 to release the deeds. By all accounts this is quite reasonable, compared to the charges some of you have been quoted...

    But does the DS1 form mean we won't have to pay any charges at all?

    Also, reading the Extortionate Bank Charges thread, it can't cost them much to store deeds and send them to you, or even hand them to you. So is this a valid argument in trying to avoid the charges?
