Oh my giddy aunt. I eat Subway's like a tart on ice. Never again though. Gosh, and here was me thinking they were super healthy cos you can have lots of veg in them. Eeeek. Thanks for pointing this out guys. *** They were selling quite well about a month or two ago. Doubt they will sell now, especially after these food poisoning outbreaks!

Did anyone see the dispatches programme on the sandwich industry. One of the subway sarines has more salt in it than 19 bags of ready salted crips.

If it's not high in salt then it'll be high in fat was the messsage from looking at all the major sandwich sellers across the country. Then there's the reconstructed meat, which is meat from useless pieces of an animal like the snot or tail. They smash it up, add a few chemicals, pack it back together then called it "reconstructed" ham.

Dispatches had a programme 'sandwiches unwrapped' recently on chanel 4, it is safe to say that subway are pretty much the worst you can get and the Subway meatballs special has the salt equivalent of 18 packets of crisps

Yes, I saw that, and was sorely disappointed. I thought it would be a real investigation and it turned out to be stating the bleedin' obvious, to put it mildly.

Did anyone really think that meat or poultry in sandwiches were prime cuts of breast or steak? Of course it's all poor quality and chemically enhanced!

not every store takes these. I had one rejected in stourbridge, west midlands. The woman said "we don't accept any vouchers here".... by that time she had made up 3 footlongs and didn't look too happy when i just walked out and said i'd leave it then.

The stourbridge shop have always been funny about vouchers... i think the franchise owner doesn't like vouchers as they harm his takings (not refunded by head office i assume)

anyway, a bit of a rant but there you go.:rolleyes:

Yeah I had this too I complained to HO and got £1 extra paid refunded... was possibily more effort than it was worth though
