Was anyone else promised a callback from EON last Saturday 2nd August ?
I called EON last Saturday (it took me an hour to get through) and I got told their systems were down due to the volume of calls. They took my details on paper, however , and I got promised a callback to finalise transition to them on the fixed price scheme.
A week later - surprise, surprise no callback
Now I was told that as I got through on Sat I would be able to get on the fixed tariff scheme guaranteed. However, now when I phone up they say they've no details of my original call.
Did this happen to anyone else? I'm complaining to them officially and it would be useful to know if similar things happened to other people.

Normally all call centres record all phone calls (you hear a message toi this effect when you call). Under the Data Protection Act you can ask for copies all data held about you this includes paper records etc. Therefore be sure you keep a note of the date/time you phoned (got through) so if the still say you didn't call you cant write to the Information Officer and ask for a copy of the recording.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Why can they not transfer you now? It's still available for existing customers (at least up to Friday when I was working).
They did have huge numbers of calls for many days in a row and agents were doing all they could to cope with the problems the systems were giving them in trying to help customers. Give them a call again on Monday, they should be able to sort you out, if not ask for a Team Manager to call you.0 -

Don't worry scoobie. I just called them to know how was my switch going after I applied on moneysupermarket.com on the 31st July for the fixed tariff until October 2009 and the guy just said that it's still being offered to everyone who asked them by phone. So I registered again.
(I wasn't going to make the £30 anyway, they don't have any record of me switching via this website to their website)
By the way, the tariff I was given was the following:
Electricity:
First 225 units 19.78 pence
All other units 11.01 pence
Gas:
First 670 units 5.06 pence
All other units 3.226 pence
Can anyonce confirm these values for me, if they were what was on the moneysupermarket.com website? I can't remember the values...0 -
I called Eon on Mon 4th Aug and was offered the above tarrif. With 6% discount for paying by DD and 3% dual fuel discount, the prices are as follows:
Elec First 225 kilowatt hours 20.11p, then 11.52p
Gas First 670 kilowatt hours 5.314p, then 3.387
Is this the tariff as advised to request by these pages? TI asked for price protection October 2009, but I don't trust that people get these things right!!0 -
You can't compare the elec rates because that's based on where you live. If they put you on price protection you will get a letter confirming the details.
You could call again and get them to tell you what tariff you are on.0 -

Wow, I didn't expect to have different values for the same tariff in the same country, that's news to me.
Anyway, I live in South East London, still didn't expect to have cheaper Gas & Electricity than someone else.
How about you Elaine, which area are you coming from?0
