I'm trying to get back into OS ways after having my baby. I didn't have time to spend ages cooking and baking over the past 4 months and I've really missed it but I'm now lacking inspiration.
So I want to know what 3 things do you love to cook/bake (if your recipe is different in any way from the norm that would be useful!!) and why do you like doing it (because your family appreciate it, it tastes amazing, baking relaxes you etc).
I'm hoping to get some inspiration from here
so thanks in advance!

Chocolate bownies, flapjacks and banana muffins - because every time I make them I'm always amazed at how easy they are
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -

Flapjacks is one of my favourites too. Only problem is they only last minutes and they've been eaten!
I've never made chocolate brownies so I'll have a go at them. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I like making risotto, I find all that stirring very soothing, and it's an excuse for a glass of wine when I cook
then of course the resultant meal is pure comfort food!
My second one is making a huge indian feast with all the sides for friends, because they think it's taken me all day and cost a fortune, whereas I know the recipes are all easy and don't cost much at all
We always end up with a houseful for those evenings and it's lovely.
I also love making sticky ginger cake, because it's the one cake nobody seems able to resist!0 -

Just been baking today, first time in ages. We made choc buns with choc icing, cheese scones and flapjacks (to be frozen to stop me eating them!) - they all for packed lunches as the kids go back to school soon in scotland and they all make fabby lunch box fillers.
Never made choc brownies, does anyone have a recipe?Waddle you do eh?0 -

I find that you seem to need about 100g more flour than told
The 1st 2 are really quick n easy..the baguettes take a bit more effort, but are worth it -and the more you do them -the quicker you get

I'm going to cheat and do three savoury and three sweet because I will never narrow it down otherwise.
SWEET:
My friend's chocolate cake recipe because it tastes divine
Flapjacks - quick and simple and very moreish
Scones
SAVOURY
Pitta bread - a recent adventure, I don't cook it often, but I loved making them
Twice baked potatoes
Sausage bake
Hmm, I am sure there are more things but I can't think of anything at the moment
