There is no limit to the amount of taxable goods you can bring into the UK from most EU states. But Customs & Excise may stop you if you bring back large quantities of alcohol and tobacco to determine whether they are for personal use. Expect to attract their attention if you arrive from an EU country with more than:
3200 cigarettes
400 cigarillos
200 cigars
3kg smoking tobacco
10 litres of spirits
20 litres of fortified wine
90 litres of wine
110 litres of beer0 -
Thanks.... think she was thinking about bringing 1000 fags back. No alcohol.0

No problem with 1,000, but they have to be for your own use. Prices in Greece are regulated so should be the same whether you buy them in resort or at the airport. From a couple of months ago (different island), English brands were 29-32 euro a sleeve (200) - can't remember specific prices as I usually buy Assos in Greece (former B&H smoker).0
