BBC iplayer screen frozen

Can anyone help me out in words of one syllable please?
I was changing screens (blooming Olympics!!) and the screen appears to be frozen on blue "BBCi please wait screen" with small "Please wait, just loading" box at the bottom.
No doubt I have pressed the wrong button on the remote, more than once
, but this has been frozen for approx 30 mins now.
Have checked the batteries in the remote if that is relevant and have turned TV off for a while, but it still comes back on with this.
Can anyone help and old bird out here please?

No probs...... have sorted it. I switched off at the socket which turned off the Virgin box too. No idea why, but I am back to BBC1 again!!
