Decent family friendly food near alton towers?

Options
Off to alton towers tomorrow-hoping to get dinner on the way home nearby before the journey.

Travelling back to M6 jct 2, so going in that direction would be great.

Anyone know anywhere good which will accommodate 4 adults, 4 kids, age 14,9, 4, 2. Can't do a supermarket meal as it'll be 5pm on a Sunday!

Happy if it's a chain-something like wetherspoons would be ideal as it's cheapish, has colouring books for the kids and quick service.
Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

    Hi bylromarha,
There's a Harvester at Trentham Lakes, which is off the A50 on your way back to the motorway - it's next door to the Stoke City ground. There is also a Pizza Hut, Frankie and Benny's and a Toby Carvery at Festival Park, which can be on your way from AT back to the motorway, depending which way you go.
There's also another chain pub which does food at the Meir Park junction of the A50 but the name completely escapes me.
Those are probably the easiest to find, as close to major roads etc. There's plenty of smaller country pubs in the lanes around AT as well, most of these are used to families etc and while you're unlikely to get colouring books the food's usually great!

There is a Frankie and Bennies in Uttoxeter 2mins from the A50 by Tescos, and a McDonalds on the A50 by the Alton Towers turning.

If you're going from AT back to M6 junction 2 via Stafford there are the following:-
    (1) Lynton Tavern in Weeping Cross Stafford, it does 2for1 its just a case of finding a table, tho usually very good. Take A518 from Uttoxeter towards Stafford, go past the county showground just outside Stafford then take the next left (Weston Rd high schools on the corner) signposted Baswich and crematorium. At traffic lights go straight on, carefully round bends and over bridges, straight on at mini roundabouts onto Baswich Lane then (I think its the 3rd left) up Porlock Ave, then 1st right onto Bodmin Ave and you come to shops and pub.

    (2) Theres a carvery at the Radford Bank follow instructions as above but don't turn left at Porlock Ave carry onto mini roundabouts and turn right signposted Stafford Town centre the pub is a short way down there on the right has an outdoor play area.

(3)A litte bit further along that rd if you carry straight on is Frankie and Bennies in Stafford.

(4)Right by junction 13 of M6 is Catch Corner pub with indoor play area. tho I've not eaten there for a few yrs so can't say what its like.

(5)Between J14 of M6 and A34 is Redhill Brewster Bears, also the Shire Horse and a new chinese tho its rather pricey.

In the middle of Stafford there is a Wetherspoons, also Chicago Rock, Yates, McDonalds.

    Hope this helps.
