Free Way to Speed Up your internet caonnection with your browser
Here's something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox browser
1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
=> network.http.pipelining
=> network.http.proxy.pipelining
=> network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer.
Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.
If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!
I have tried it and it really works
Simply close and restart Firefox, and you should see an immediate 10% to 40% increase in web page transfer speed, and faster opening of your tabbed windows!
Enjoy!

The extensions just adds an extra tab to your options menu where you pick from Default, Courteous, Optimized , Turbo Charged or Customsilverfoxdude wrote:thanks deep88. I have done what you said and it has speeded things up. I darent try yours sra, i'll only get something wrong!! lol
If you select custom, lots of extra tabs appear along the top where you can further tweak (as seen above) - but you don't have to worry about that unless you want to get all advanced0 -
I've done it!! thanks, somethings in life just arent as scary as they seem now are they lol. cheers0
