Floors 2 Go in Administration

Options
Has any one been affected by this?

We have had wood flooring from them & went back this week to order another pack.(would take a week) We paid for it up front as well as buying other items from them.

We eventually bought the pack from another floors 2 go store as our builder wanted it asap & went back to cancel the order & was told we could not have our money back & to write to the administrators for it.

Surely, the company should be telling their customers that no refunds will be given. Does this include faulty goods too? One of the strips we have bought is damaged & they do not think they can get another.

I suppose it could be worse, as I believe some customers have not had goods they have paid for!

Both my two local shops are trading as normal as well. In fact, a friend had a job interview there yesterday.... Mmmmm, I wonder if they have been bought out?

    Here's a little page I found from a google http://www.retail-week.com/NonChannelContent/2008/07/floors2go_enters_administration.html

  • They went into adminsitration on 21st July, they do not have a buyer (yet). They state on the website that they will honour all orders. I would personally go and ask for a refund if you can, and shop elsewhere, as you never know what could happen in these situations, and you dont want to lose your money.

They have shut 41 stores so still have almost 100 trading (obviously closed the stores running at a loss like all administrators would do) so some stores remain unaffected at present.

Try and get the stores to look for stock in other branches if they can not get your order from the supplier.

CMHBYANDCO it could be even worse, think off all the 100 staff that turned up for work that morning and got told to go home!

I had oak flooring from them last year and right under my office chair the whole are is faded as if by sunlight. No sunlight actually touches the area only my oiffice chair. I don't see how the chair could have done this but was going to contact them for advice.

If anyone knows the answer to the problem without me contacting them, please let me know!

Real wood floors will fade over time, not just down to sunlight but also electric light. They are not a manufactured product so no UV resistant layers are in the process to stop them fading.

The only chance is to sand the floor and stain/oil it again.

Some people dont realise this, if you want the look of a real wood, but dont want it to stain or fade or scratch or dent like a real wood - you need to buy a laminate!
