Great choice. We go there 2-3 times a year. In fact, this time next week we'll be sitting in our favourite Saint Malo restaurant sampling the seafood :j0 -
I love driving the Pont de Saint-Nazaire - not sure if that's on your route but if not, worth a little detour in my opinion!
I agree with the others about St Malo, it's lovely
If it's any help I stayed in Rennes years ago and didn't rate it much - no particular reason, just nothing special

Carnac is nice too, its a fab seaside town and there are masses of standing stones like a mini Stonehenge. We love it there.Cogito ergo sum. Google it you lazy sod !!0
