credit card chargeback help

Hello all,

I am thinking about doing a chargeback for a ebay item i won, and need some advice.
The item was shipped from the USA (to UK) and arrived damaged.

If I start a chargeback do I have to return the item or pay return shipping costs (the seller refuses to pay return shipping) .

The item cost me £90, the cheapest return shipping I could find was over £50.
Paypal was no help, they want me to return it in its original condition. (what ever that means).

I am at a loss what to do.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

have a look on the ebay.co.uk (or perhaps .com in your case) forums. theyre an excellent repository of knowledge and u can even ask a moderator for help if necessary. if youre really stuck try ebay live help. make them earn their final value fees ;)
