Onwards and upwards from here on in!
I want to dye my hair too... but it's very dark brown so the only colour that seems to work on my hair is red or purple, which I'm sick of. I got my mum to cut my hair yesterday so free haircut for meHairdressers never do it right.
Yesterday I listed literally everything that I don't wear, as well as some of my sister's clothes. Though most of my stuff is so worn that it's not worth sellingHope I make at least £20 as I want to buy myself some new clothes (from Primark or Peacocks of course!) for college so that I don't like like a streetwalker.

Hi all, I haven't posted in ages, and I am just jumping in on the end of this thread cos I like the idea of it.
I paid off the last of my non-student-loan debt in December of last year. While I've got a small overdraft and my student loan, I consider myself to be debt free. My goal is to save as much money as I owe on student loan, (nearly £18,000), but not to pay it back any sooner than it comes out of my salary.
Short term goal is to max my ISA for this tax year. Since New Year, I have put £1,500 in last year's ISA, and £900 in this year's ISA, as well as saving £1,400 towards Xmas present and a new Macbook Pro notebook.
So the I WANT IT NOW part is the new notebook PC! However, I've been waiting since February of this year for Apple to bring out a new version of their pro laptop, the reason being is the last set were a bit faulty (which doesn't inspire awe, TBH) and the rumoured new ones will be much more of a worthy revision, with some cool new updates. If only they'd actually launch them!
The thing is, now that I've waited this long for one (essentially all year, since paying off my loan), I'm not sure I want one anymore! In the meantime I've upgraded my existing PC, so it's not that slow anymore (it's actually pretty quick now) and accordingly I've no pressing use for a laptop. It was an idea I had a year ago to reward myself for paying back my loan!
I've half a mind to put the £1300 or so earmarked for it into my ISA!
Perhaps I will feel different when they actually come out? I hoped that they'd be released next tuesday, but that looks to just be new iPods, so bit disappointing.
The other thing is that I'd quite like to (in true Men's Health fashion) "lose the gut" and get my abs back, so buying a laptop that will encourage to spend more of my evenings sitting down might not be such a great idea. I was thinking of tethering getting in shape to getting the laptop. I've saved the money, so there's no issue there, but it might motivate me if I set the goal of "you can buy the laptop only when you've shed 10kilos" which I think it a pretty good idea, but will need to pipe it in neon outside my house or something, so I don't just buy one when they come out and ignore my best intentions!
Congrats to everyone btw, esp Jenjade who is debt free today. Woot!Student Loan Company Ltd: 17,805 (2.8%) Overdraft: 500 (Interest free)
Savings: £5,100 - Target by end of 2008 £5,000+
Net Worth 1/7/06: -£32,698 -- Net Worth 25/8/08: -£13,350.0 -
oh thank you i am feeling so good today!!
good luck with the laptop and shaping up!!
that is my next aim to get slimmer and in shape:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

Hi everyone,
We have just got planning permission to extend our house and get it fully refurbished, just a small problem, the planning consent last for 3 years, and we have huge debts which we are now starting DMP with CCCS, which has been estimated to take 6 yrs 9 mths to clear with the current payments we can afford, so what will happen with the planning permission.
Will we need to re-apply and pay all the costs again or just get them re-approved.
We live in a semi-detatched dorma bungalow which has 2 bedrooms at the moment, but with the extension it would become a huge 4/5 bed house with lovely large kitchen, large dining room, master with en-suite. This will all cost about £45,000.
If we did not have the debts we would probably be able to afford to get it all done. We have tried to get a remortgage but have been turned down by 3 Lenders - I have now given up and will have to live with the knowldege that it is all my fault I cannot give my children the home they deserve. Instead we live in a home without double glazing, kitchen which I cannot keep clean or "swing a cat in", and a bathroom that is half finished, old wallpaper from previos owners - won't go on, to put it in a nutshell - I am embarressedabout my home and never invite people round as I cannot face the embarrassement. I would just love to have a nice home.
Anyhow
My Want is a nice home for my 3 beatiful girls and my long suffering Husband. And to be able to be a happy person who is not depressed all the time because of the debts.
I would also like to have another baby before I am 40, but we can't even think about that now.
