Only if they can't open them! No the most helpful answer but unless they asked for it in a specific format they would have a cheek to complain unless they can't open them.

It shouldnt be a problem, it can be opened in Word which nearly everywhere has. Make sure it hasnt changed to format though, otherwise I would send an apology and re send.

Microsoft Word needs to install a converter for it to be able to use MS Works files. This converter isn't installed by default.

Very few companies and HR administrators will know how to (or be allowed to per computer restrictions) install the converter. Even if their copy of Word prompts them to install it, it will still need the original CD or network location for it to work.

When I send out CVs I include both a Microsoft Word (XP/2003 version) and PDF versions so that they will definitely be able to read it.

Only very very small one-man companies with retail PCs would ever use Microsoft Works.

If I received a .wps CV I would hit delete straight away.

I'm afraid Jadziad is right - most businesses won't be able to open a wps file and when they click to open won't understand why it's all gobbledegook and hit delete.

Always send Docs in Word or pdf.
